Tehachapi Mountain Fall Hike

Come get out, enjoy the fall, and get exercise. We will hike 4.8 miles round trip through a beautiful forest, on a trail, to the top of the tallest peak in the Tehachapi Mountain Range, Tehachapi Mountain (elevation 7960 feet). This hike climbs about 2000 feet and is for older students (including high school) and their parents. The hike should last about 3 1/2 hours.
Option: Hike half way up on the fire road with the group and then turn around. This cuts both the elevation gain and distance in half. This a great option for those younger folks, people crunched on time, or for those working on physical fitness. The shortened hike should last about 2 hours.
WHEN: Thursday, October 27th at 9:00 am
WHERE: Tehachapi Mountain Park
Take Water Canyon Road south 2.2 miles to the entrance to Tehachapi Mountain Park. Drive through the park to the end of the road, keeping right at each fork to the parking area at site 49 near the restrooms. We will meet here at 9:00 am.
FEE: Free
