“Give a Coat, Help a Kid” drive between Now-10/27

The Salvation Army has asked if Valley Oaks  could host a coat drive for disadvantaged children in Tehachapi. If you can, please bring a new or gently used winter jacket to the school office and place in the box labeled Salvation Army. Thank you for your willingness to help.

Food Drive Update

Together, Valley Oaks donated over 60 food items to the Salvation Army. Period 4, Jr. ASB was the winning class with the highest donations of 21 items. The Salvation Army was very thankful to our school families for helping fill their pantry.

Our second through eighth grade students are now wearing their VOCS lanyards with schedules during Wednesday/Friday classes!

This helps all of us know where your student needs to be during the day and promotes the safety of all students.

Parents, you are welcome to stay during classes at anytime. If you do stay on campus, please get a name tag or lanyard from Darla in the office. If you come up to the annex and plan on staying, we will have name tags there as well. This will help us know who is on campus in the event of an emergency situation.

Come get out, enjoy the fall, and get exercise. This hike climbs about 2000 feet and is for older students (including high school) and their parents. The hike should last about 3 1/2 hours.
Option: Hike half way up on the fire road with the group and then turn around. This cuts both the elevation gain and distance in half. This a great option for those younger folks, people crunched on time, or for those working on physical fitness. The shortened hike should last about 2 hours.
