New! All 7th-12th grade students interested in Drama!

Please plan on coming to Classroom BC this coming Friday, August 25th, between the hours of 12 and 2:00 pm to pick up the script for the first play. Auditions will be held on Friday, Sept.1st between 8:30 and 12:00pm. You will not be required to stay the entire time.

If you wish to participate in Vendor Services, there are flyers and forms in the office.  The last day to turn in forms for the Fall semester is Tuesday, September 26th.

One Spot Left – Sign-up now for Camp KEEP for 6th graders

Camp KEEP is during the week of October 2-6, 2017. Camp KEEP Ocean is a 5 day environmental sleep-away camp in Montana De Oro State Park. The cost is $300.
Camp KEEP is an environmental program that helps children understand the natural world. Students learn first hand about many unique ecosystems and return with an increased awareness of their environment and their responsibility to manage it wisely.
The ocean, tide pools, and dunes will serve as a laboratory where students will be involved in nature study, recording and analyzing data and sharing new-found information which will help them understand and appreciate themselves more fully.

NEW! Bakersfield College Planetarium

Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 10:00 am. Join us for a trip through the galaxy! We will be starting our journey at William M Thomas Planetarium on the Bakersfield College Campus.  We will be viewing Oasis in Space: A 24-minute all-dome video from Spitz Creative Media, this show takes you on a journey through the solar system to experience the beautiful planets and satellites up close as you search for places with liquid water.

Join Old Smokepole as he shares authentic mining devices and techniques with students in this hands-on experience. Topics he will be sharing: mining methods used during the period of the Gold Rush, stories of real people (who go rich and who didn’t), and the diversity of people involved in the Gold Rush
